When you take a sip of a dry red wine, that sensational 'mouth-feel' comes from the grape’s naturally occurring tannic acid.

In the wine-making process, the grape juices are in contact with the tannin-rich grape skins for a longer period of time.

This is called “maceration” and the length of this process determines the tannic acid content in wine.

Tannins are loaded with health-promoting antioxidants, and they may even boost the health of your immune and cardiovascular systems.

Watch the video below to learn about recent studies on tannins and antiviral responses in the body.

Jim’s family has been farming for over 100 years! We didn’t get to do much celebrating this year at the vineyard estate but look out for next year! Live music, amazing wines, great company, and gorgeous vineyard sunset views!  Don’t forget Jimmy’s vineyard hayrides!

The Doce Robles Estate is going on its 24th year in Paso Robles, CA. Thanks to Jim and Maribeth for keeping the good wine and good times a’ comin’! The painting (above) was illustrated by Gail Hansen, Maribeth’s mother, prior to the vineyard’s planting. Forever and always will it be the trademark and label that represents their fine wines.
